Identity verification for regulated workflows

Verify the people behind a customer relationship using electronic ID where available, or passport, identity document and liveness verification where it is not.

IQON brings identity verification into onboarding, KYC and wider workflows, or lets you request verification directly from an individual when the need arises.

What electronic signing covers

Electronic ID

Verify individuals using supported electronic identity methods such as BankID where available.

Standalone verification requests

Request identity verification directly from an individual contact without requiring a full onboarding process.

Passport and ID verification

Verify customers who cannot use electronic ID through passport or other supported identity documents.

Liveness verification

Confirm that the person completing the verification is physically present during the identity check.

Document authenticity

Analyse identity documents for signs of manipulation and return the verification result for review.

NFC passport reading

Read data directly from the chip in supported biometric passports using an NFC enabled mobile device.

Alternative verification paths

Use electronic ID where available and document based verification where it is not.

Part of onboarding and KYC

Make identity verification one step within customer onboarding, KYC or another regulated workflow.

Verification record

Keep the verification result connected to the individual and the customer relationship it relates to.

One request. One verified identity. One record.

Identity verification can be requested as part of onboarding or sent directly to an individual contact. The person completes the appropriate verification method, and the result is returned to IQON and kept with the relationship it belongs to.

  1. Verification requested

Send the verification request to the individual who needs to identify themselves.

  2. Method completed

The individual verifies their identity using electronic ID or the available document based verification process.

  3. Identity checked

The identity information, document and liveness checks are completed as required by the verification method.

  4. Result returned

The verification outcome is returned to IQON for use in the customer or compliance process.

  5. Record retained

The verification result remains connected to the individual and the relationship it was requested for.

When electronic ID is not available.

Electronic ID is the simplest verification path where a supported method is available. But not every person can use BankID or another local eID.

IQON can instead guide the individual through identity document verification, including passport or supported ID document capture, liveness verification and checks for signs of document manipulation. For supported biometric passports, NFC can be used to read data directly from the passport chip.

The verification result is returned to IQON and kept with the individual and customer relationship it belongs to.
